Bangalore: Sports has been an attraction and love of many. “Love is playing every game as if it's your last,” said Michael Jordan. Such is the admiration for sports. While many sports earn you a million bucks, here are the 10 richest sporting events in the world, as listed by Forbes.  The list is based on the prize money paid out to the victor of either a single event or a tournament.

UEFA Champions League:
UEFA Champions League is an annual continental club football competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for the top football clubs in Europe. At $65 million it is the world’s richest sporting event. It is known to be one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world and the most prestigious club competition in European football. The winner of the UEFA Champions League is eligible for the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.  In the 2013 Final the champions of the competition are Bayern Munich, who beat Borussia Dortmund.

FIFA World Cup:
The FIFA World Cup is an international association football competition contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and it is the second richest sporting event at $31 million. The championship is awarded every four years. The existing champions are Spain, who won the 2010 tournament. It is the world's most widely viewed sporting event. The next World Cup is scheduled to be hosted by Brazil in 2014.
