These are India's Cleanest Cities

Mysore: Mysore is a city of Palaces and people love to adorn this place as a tourist or its residents. During Dussehra celebration, Mysore is all decked up with its cultural attraction brimming with tourists from all over. With the celebrations, cleanliness is a major issue, and residents along with the government make sure that the city is kept clean and presentable, thus daunts the second position in cleanest cities list.

One among the many organizations, “Let’s Do it Mysore”, a volunteer-led initiative in Mysore, started in 2008, where a small group of activists used GPS-enabled cameras with a single goal to clean the entire city in just one day and organized waste-mapping crews and 50,000 volunteers for a successful day of mass action.

Surat: Surat takes the first place on the list and is ranked as India's best city to live in. It tops both-quality of life and quality of city systems. Known as the diamond capital of the world, Surat is a well-developed metropolis in Gujarat. It was recently conferred with "Best Urban City of India" award.

Surat gained prominence and recognition for being the '2nd Cleanest City in India' awarded by INTACH during 1995-1996, and was once declared the '3rd Cleanest City' in India in 2011.
