Kalyanasundaram

Kalyanasundaram was born to a wealthy agricultural family in Tamil Nadu. While he was doing his graduation at Madras University he started the International Children’s Welfare Organization to help slum children. This was his first step towards social service. During Indo-China war he was in limelight when he donated his gold chain for the ‘National Defence Fund’.

He never wanted to keep anything with him, since he believed in that no one will take anything when they die. He has been working as a Liberian for more than three decades and he used all his monthly salary in order to help the poor and did part time jobs to meet his daily needs. He even donated his retirement fund 10 lakh as well as the entire amount of 30 crores that he received with the Man of the Millennium award for the welfare of poor.
