Six New IIMs: Many More Approvals By The Union Cabinet

Six new IIMs

Good news is here for aspiring management candidates. The government sanctioned permission for the setting up of 6 new IIMs in Vishakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Bodh Gaya (Bihar), Sirmaur (Himachal Pradesh), Nagpur (Maharashtra), Sambalpur (Odisha) and Amritsar (Punjab) respectively.  Colleges will start the academic sessions right from the next year. This year these IIMS will only admit 140 students.The number of candidates will rise over time.

Solar boost

Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has been granted to use Registrar of Companies by:
a. converting it into a Section 3 company under the Companies Act, 2013
b. renaming it as the Renewable Energy Corporation of India

These two approvals will make SECI self-sustaining and self-generating organization that can transact business in the solar sector other manufacturing solar goods. To expand the use of solar energy products across the country, the centre also discussed on increasing the scope of the activities of SECI.
