A 74-year old social worker from Tamil Nadu, Palam Kalyanasundaram devoted 30 years of his life being a librarian. The inspiration he drew from his mother helped him to donate his salary to less privileged people as long as he worked. His passion to serve the poor keeps him moving.

He even shelled out a sum of Rs 30 crore for charity donation that he received through some awards. After his retirement he started working as a waiter in a hotel and continued making his contribution to serve the humanity.

A play she watched on child sexual abuse in 2004 transformed her life forever. The miserable condition of the girl portrayed in the act left an indelible mark on Pooja’s mind. The altitude of the impact on her was altogether different from the others who watched along with her.

Her endless introspection on the subject led to the development of an organization namely Arpan – Towards Freedom from Child Sexual Abuse. Her worked hard against reality of this crime has helped over 70,000 children directly and 212000 people indirectly which includes the individuals, the families and the teachers.
