PM Modi To Visit Gandhi Statue, Lincoln Memorial In Maiden Visit To U.S.




President Barack Obama is a frequent visitor to this memorial, which is located at the West End of the National Mall.

Located in the southwest of the National Mall, the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial is the latest of the historic memorials on the National Mall.

It was opened to the public on 22 August, 2011 by Obama, who is a great follower of Martin Luther King Jr. The leader of the African-American Civil Rights Movement, martin Luther King Jr was a great follower of Mahatma Gandhi.

Modi is scheduled to arrive in Washington on 29 September and leave the city for India a day later on 30 September.

During his stay in Washington, which would last a little over 24 hours, officials are giving final shape to his hectic to squeeze in time for his visit to these two memorials and the Gandhi Status.

As of now, it looks like that he would be visiting the Lincoln Memorial and the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial on the morning of 30 September, before his meeting with President Obama at the White House.

However, his programme has not been sealed in yet, sources said, adding that there might be last minute changes.
