PM Modi To Hand Awards For Excellence In Public Administration On Tuesday


The award includes a medal, scroll and a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh. In case of a team, the total award money is Rs 5 lakh subject to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh per person. For an organisation, this is limited to Rs 5 lakh, it said.

The sessions as part of the programme would be chaired by senior Union ministers like Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani.

Among other dignitaries would be NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya and Professor of Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, Dr Ashok Gulati, the release said.

A number of eminent speakers are expected to deliberate on these issues of contemporary relevance and seek to address the challenges before the civil services in terms of re-inventing governance for efficient service delivery, it said.

A book, 'Best Practices -- Tomorrow is Here', will also be released by the Prime Minister on Tuesday during the event, the release said.

Civil Services Day is being observed since 2006 for officers to rededicate and recommit themselves to the people. It provides a unique opportunity for introspection as also for working out strategies to deal with the challenges being posed by the ever-changing times, the release said.
