Paris Climate Conference: All You Need To Know



Top carbon emitters
Countries from across the globe will participate in the conference which takes into account the present climatic status. Amongst all, China leads the lot as the as the top emitter globally. U.S. and India rank second and third respectively as the leading emitters whereas Australia is the largest emitter per capita.

Numbers involved in the conference
The 21st Conference of Parties will hold for 12 days at a stretch from November 30 to December 11. The conference will take place at Le Bourget, where around 195 nations and European Union will hold the meeting. Since the conference is right after the brutal attack that took place in Paris, the security measures are strict as ever. Amongst the 40,000 officials participating, 147 are the official State leaders.   

$100 billion pledged every year
By 2020 rich nations have given a word to pay an amount of $100 Bn to poorer nations to come to terms with the increasing global warming and participate to cut down the emissions.  Presently these countries are offering half of the amount. This conference would consider the same as developing countries will ask for more whereas the richer nations would probably disagree to that.
