Dr. R K Radhakrishnan:

Apart from being honored with India’s third highest civilian award—Padma Bhushan, Radhakrishnan’s proudest moment would be his ambitious Mission on Mars successfully entered the Martian orbit. He is the man who made India, the first country in the world to succeed in such an inter-planetary mission in the maiden attempt itself. The next biggest challenge to him is the GSLV Mark III. The scientists have left no stone unturned to ensure this GSLV Mark III which is ISRO’s heaviest rocket that could carry active solid boosters is successfully launched on December 18. After having spent a distinguished career spanning 38 years Radhakrishnan is likely to retire this year end.

Kailash Satyarthi’s efforts went unnoticed for several years. If there is anyone who deserves a wide recognition from the world over that is him. An Electrical Engineer who founded Bachpan Bachao Andolan to eliminate child trafficking and labor, he has more than a Nobel Prize for us to recognize him. His early attempts to raid factories employing child laborers met with hostile reaction from the factory owners and at times the police but the significance of his work was slowly recognized. BBA team has rescued over 77,328 child bonded laborers and developed a successful model for their education and rehabilitation. He is technically the father of all those destitute children.
