NaMo's Tug Of War in 2015; Aspirations V/s Expectations

Modi owes a lot to the rising young India who revamped the elections with Modi’s vibes, which helped him sweep the polls. It is a renowned fact that the politicians fear the youth factor, but for Modi he has a way to deal with it. He has given them colossal hopes that it touched mystical levels when one speaks to the rural and urban, poor and middle-class youth. In case Modi fails to service these hopes that will end up in declining future prospects.

Another imaginative diplomatic move that was taken by Modi is inviting Obama over to attend the upcoming Republic Day Celebrations. This has the major catch that could redefine the potential future of U.S.-Indian ties. The basic problem that arrives here are the structural differences which are not easy to overcome. U.S. is looking at India as a market to open up its corporations, and this has been postponed over and over due to the stringent Indian economic reforms. The major objections for U.S. to enter India were patent rights issues, anti-investment nature of economy and declining growth rates. Modi needs to constantly cater to these issues as the ties between both countries grow stronger.

Another  up-hill task for Modi in 2015 is  to give better clarity on India’s relation with China, which is a growing national power and also the most active in the region. Pakistan’s enduring challenges posed to India’s security time and again asks for a strong action from the Modi government. Sangh Parivar’s endeavor for ‘Hidutva Rashtra’ is an obvious challenge for Modi prior to his election and it still continues to be so.
