Worked Half Heartedly:

When Kurien returned from the U.S. after pursuing master degree, he joined the Government of India's experimental creamery, at Anand in Gujarat's Kheda district, where the Anand Milk Federation Union Limited is situated. Though he had planned to quit the job in mid way, he was influenced to stay back by Tribhuvandas Patel, a local leader at the respective district.  

Amul Plant:

The ground breaking history began when; Patel and Kurien formed a co-operative syndicate Amul, to produce milk powders and the by then Prime Minister of Indian Jawaharlal Nehru was invited to inaugurate the plant. The co-operative society was formed by conglomerating local farmers of the region.
