Meet the Padma Vibhushan Award Winners Of 2016

Jagmohan:

Jagmohan a retired civil servant and also served as the former Lieutenant Governor Delhi, Goa, Governor Jammu & Kashmir. Jagmohan was born on September 25, 1927 in West Pakistan and along with his family, he moved to India during the time of partition. Later he joined Punjab civil service and after few years he served for the Delhi government, where his talent and dedication for work was spotted by the higher officials. In 1980, Jagmohan began his tenure as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and stressed on the planned development of the capital, in subsequent years he also served for Goa and Jammu & Kashmir.

Ravi Shankar:

The spiritual guru of Karnataka is also the recipient of the award. Ravi Shankar has setup ‘Art of Living’ in Bangalore city that has been a prime place for religious research in the region. The institution is established to relieve individual stress, societal problems, and violence thorough spiritual practices.
