Key Highlights from PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat Episode

3. The whole world is moving towards becoming a cashless society. Now we can purchase things, pay bills and make all cash transactions electronically. JAM – Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, Mobile is a significant step towards evolving as a cashless society. We have incorporated Bank on Mobile and Universal Payment Interface Banking (UPIB) to advance the cashless policy for our citizens. NPCI and Banks are working to launch this platform via mobile application. Post offices have also been equipped for banking services.

4. It is true that the country faces many challenges when it comes to sports and we have to work towards this direction in creating a sports favoring environment. Let us step forward to encourage and motivate our athletes who are participating in RIO Olympics—everyone can do it in their own way—by writing a song, making a cartoon or even sending wishes through messages.

5. The concern shown by Union Minister for Sports, Sarbananda Sonowal is admirable. Even during the election polls in Assam, he paid a surprise visit to Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala, where he met the athletes and had discussions with them.

6. In the last 8 to 10 days, a lot of results have been declared in our country; not to be confused with the election results. It is about the results of the students of classes 10th and 12th who have prepared hard throughout the year. Quite evident that girl students are performing really well. Congratulations to those who succeeded, and those who didn’t should remember that life is not to be halted if the desired results have not been achieved.

7. Tensions are rising as the monsoons are delaying weeks after another.  Hope temperatures drop and everything falls back in place again.

8. June 21 is International Yoga Day, which is not just an event but an inspiration to millions in country and abroad. Yoga reinforces the belief that prevention is better than cure. Include it in our daily routine for 20-30 min. I will join a programme in Chandigarh on Yoga Diwas.

9. Your health is vital in making India healthy, so request each and every one of you to stay hale and hearty.

10. I will connect with you regularly through Mann ki Baat. You can also listen to the Mann ki Baat episode by giving a missed call to 1922.
