India on a Ban Spree, Government Bans Six Different Things

Ban on curse words in Bollywood:

The censor board recently gave out a list of words that can no more be used in Bollywood movies. Sooner or later it was going to do it anyway. There is a huge uproar in the social media whether it is so important to ban such a thing. The argument is that the people are already aware of such words and that there is no point imposing ban.

Ban on the release of ‘Dirty Politics’ in Bihar:

The Patna High Court banned the release of the upcoming movie, Dirty Politics, Bihar. The movie was banned on the grounds that it had some objectionable scenes. The ban had to be lifted later, because technically the film had no scar from the CBFC board, which had passed it without a cut.

Ban on BBC’s ‘India’s Daughter’ Documentary:

The controversial documentary filmed by BBC journalist under the title ‘India’s Daughter’ has been banned by the Government of India. The government shows that the documentary showed India in poor light and then claimed that the filmmaker had not obtained the required permissions. BBC however went ahead to air the documentary. Despite the ban the documentary is available online and the ban drew much more attention than earlier.
