Mohan Bhagawat not only heads the BJP’s parent organization, but he is the one believed to lay down the ideologies for the party. It is the mighty RSS who are BJP’s ‘rama sethu.’ They are the ones who mobilized public opinion against UPA 2, right before the elections. He holds the moral authority to settle differences within the ruling establishment. He boosted Modi’s administration by stating that the ‘new government is moving in the right direction.’ He is referred to as the ‘old whine’ by India Today because he believes that "The cultural identity of all Indians is Hindutva and the present inhabitants of the country are descendants of this great culture." Whereas, Amit Shah is the one who drove the campaign on the lines of development rather than religion and caste—a perfect blend of extremism with modernity.
