France vs. Croatia in France, 1998 (Semi Final):

Croatia emerged as one of the surprisingly best side in the 1998 World Cup in France. The team was confident of holding the Cup for the first time ever and the goal of Davor Suker added their confident even more.

But, their dreams were all shattered when French full back, Lilian Thuram scored two goals. And that was his only two goals in his 142 caps. This eventually took France into the finals.

Portugal vs. DPR Korea in England, 1966 (Quarter Final):

It was in 1966 World Cup, when North Korea have sealed a place in the World Cup quarter final for the first time.

The team had survived the group stages and that was considered a sheer miracle. The North Korean players consist of a group of well-meaning, disciplined amateurs who had never played in Europe before, knocked out the great Italy in the quarter-final match by scoring 3-0.

That game in England remains one of the most extraordinary in the history of the football match.
