Female Advocates Who Have Set Their Mark in the Indian Judicial System


Sudha Bharadwaj:

Land accusation is one among the highly discussed topics in recent time, but number of activists fought for is meager. However, Sudha Bharadwaj from Chhattisgarh is an exception as she has vigorously involved in anti- Land accusation movement. Father, being the general secretary of the Chhattisgarh People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), she has dedicated her life and efforts to fight against child labor.  Not to forget, she is an advocate by profession.

Meenakshi Lekhi:

Meenakshi Lekhi is the Supreme Court lawyer also the Indian Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from New Delhi constituency. Meenakshi has been practicing law since 1990 and has advocated for cases pertaining to domestic violence and family law disputes. Further, she was also in the Drafting Committees for Bills like 'Women's Reservation Bill' and 'Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill.
