On the special request of U.S. officials, Metro stations and offices around the Rajpath area will be taken over 72 hours and face recognition and CCTV cameras have been installed at Delhi’s entry points. Moreover, Snipers will be positioned and the airspace over the area will be monitored by specially set up radar.

To the surprise, Obama will be present for an open air stage at Rajpath, for a duration of more than 2 hours for the Republic day parade, which is the longest ever by any U.S. President so far. According to Junior Home Minister Kiren Rijiju, "Obama's security is our responsibility and we should not make it a big issue," reports NDTV.
