Bangalore: Which are the world’s best cities to live in? The latest report from the Economist Unit Intelligence has ranked world’s best cities. The survey was done across 140 cities on the basis of health care, education, environment, culture and infrastructure. Let’s take a look at some of these cities.

Melbourne, Australia (Ranked 1):

The city is referred as the cultural capital of Australia. Its Overall Rating is 97.5 (out of 100). Melbourne is the birth place of cultural institutions such as Australian Films and Australian Televisions. It’s an international cultural center, with cultural endeavors spanning major events and festivals, drama, comedy and music. When it comes to climate, Melbourne has a moderate oceanic climate and is well known for its changeable weather conditions, which makes the city the best place to live. Education wise, it ranks first as the top university city. Melbourne has many major medical, neuroscience and biotechnology research institutes. The city also boasts of one of the best infrastructures in the world.

Vienna, Austria (Ranked 2):

The city ranks 2nd in the list. Its overall rating is 97.4 (out of 100). It is known as the ‘City of Music’. Music is one of Vienna’s legacies. Musical prodigies like Joseph Hayden and Gustav Mahler have worked there. Art and culture have a long tradition in Vienna, including theatre, opera, classical music and fine arts. Vienna is also Austria’s main center for education and home to many universities and professional colleges. The city also possesses many park facilities, which attracts not only the locals but also tourists from all over the world. These factors make the city the best place to live in.
