Bangalore: Success doesn’t come to us easily, instead we have to toil hard to reach for the success. Struggle develops ones strength and when one go through hardships and decide not to surrender that is strength. Here is a glimpse of some Indian Olympic stars who with their hard work and dedication had made the country proud.

Saina Nehwal:

Saina Nehwal is regarded as the prolific Indian Badminton player and arguably the best female Indian badminton player the country have ever produced. Her biggest achievement was reaching the quarter final round at the London Olympics and thereby winning a bronze for the country being the first Indian Badminton player to achieve this feat. She was also awarded The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for her brilliant performance in international tournaments.

As her early life is concerned, she had to face hardship and struggle before turning into a professional. She was born in Hisar, Haryana and got her badminton genes from her parents, who were former State Badminton Champions. From a very tender age, Saina showed interest in the game and even got an opportunity to see her mother play when she was only five month old. She started playing badminton at a tender age of 8 under the watchful eye of her then coach Nani Prasad. But her training sessions were never easy. She adopted a tough training schedule from the very beginning. She had to get up early morning and travel 25 kilometers with her father to train at the Lal Bahadur stadium. She was trained further under SM Arif, a Dronacharya Award Winning Badminton coach. She had to make a lot sacrifices to keep her body fit as she had to stay away from chocolates and ice creams. With her true dedication and hard work towards the game, she has made the entire nation proud.
