Visa Row: India Says No Visa-Free Entry For Bangladeshis


BANGALORE: Corrupt agents, backed by political parties to create a vote bank, the issue of illegal immigration of Bangladeshi nationals have kicked up a lot of row in the recent past. But, as promised by the BJP stalwarts to deport Bangladeshis if the party comes to power, the Union Home Ministry has taken a tough stand and shot down the Ministry of External Affairs proposals to ease restrictions on the arrival and movement of Bangladeshi nationals in the country, as reported by HindustanTimes.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who is soon to make a visit to Bangladesh as part of the cautious agenda had presented two proposals in front of the Home Ministry; one being a visa-free entry to Bangladeshi nationals under the age of 18 and over the age of 65 years and another being a proposed granting visa-on-arrival facility to Bangladeshis. Following this course of action, the Home Department headed by Rajnath Singh took a tough stand and completely rejected both the proposals proposed by the MEA.
