Uber to Debut Its Carpool Service 'Uberpool' in Bengaluru


BENAGLURU: The multinational cab service provider ‘Uber’ is up with its new feature that can reduce the traveling fares of the customers and also can reduce hectic traffic in urban areas in India. ‘UberPOOL’  is the service, which is now introduced in the country by the Uber, as reported by the FIRSTPOST.

 UberPOOL is not a pilot program in india, as commuters in cities like San Francisco, New York City, Boston, Austin and Paris are already familiar with this serviceUberPOOL is currently available only in Bangalore and will soon expand this service in other cities, based on the response received from the Bangalore customers. According to Uber, this new carpooling service is to provide an easily accessible transport system for everyone in the city. Which will also supplement City Traffic Police’s efforts to spread awareness of this kind service, to reduce traffic in the city. The official statement of the Uber follows, “Since the early days of Uber in Bengaluru, we have been excited about the idea of providing everyone with easy access to transportation so reliable and affordable, that people can actually rethink car ownership.”

As per the Uber, customers can save up to 50 percent of their solo travel charges by opting to UberPOOL service, likewisein San Francisco  commuters have saved up to 200,000 gallons of gas by sharing cabs.

Tied up with more than 165,000 cab drivers, Uber is currently the biggest cab service provider in the country, possessing more than 40 percent share in the Indian market.
