90s were the golden days for Mango Bites and Orange Candies. These are not the kind of candies we get in the malls today; these candies were sold on the ‘thelas’ in front of the school. We bought these fish shaped orange and cola flavored candies for 25paise and we got a whole pack of those for 2. Mango Bite was our parent’s definition of  ‘chocolates’, because when we asked them for chocolates they’d get us these.

And Big Babol for the ‘cool’ guys in school

Big Babol added to our ‘cool looks’ back then. We all thought by chewing gum we were making a statement didn’t we? And we all had this competition with our friends as to who would blow the biggest balloon. Ah those glorious old days.

Sundrop Oil, the famous healthy oil

Don’t you miss this Sundrop commercial from the 90s?  This fascinated lad in a miniature version symbolically dressed in a yellow suit would jump, slide and run around the dishes made with Sundrop Refined Oil. Setting aside the fact whether or not we used this oil, the ad just blew us all. We were glued to our TVs each time this commercial was played.
