Time For A Makeover For 'Make In India' Campaign


BENGALURU: PM Modi’s ambitious Make In India project roared in Hannover Messe fair in Germany in April to attract foreign investment. But the controversial lion logo to go through minor modifications, as there are some significant resemblance with the campaign logo of Central Bank of Zurich in Switzerland. As both logos are mostly designed with cogs, resulting to this; the controversy has pushed the Government of India to hire an advertising agency to develop the brand value in an international market. The present logo was designed by India division of American agency Weiden + Kennedy, reports economic times.

‘TV’ and ‘print’ commercials and outdoor campaigns are to be made by the chosen agency, which will also hold responsibility of promotion it in global media. Separate strategies are to be made for social media campaign, along with maintaining the content of the Make In India portal. Social media campaign includes, increasing the popularity of the brand and accumulating more number of followers.  

Aviation, construction, information and technology, automobiles, defence, textiles and railways are the sectors that come under Make In India, the share of manufacturing GDP is expected to escalate from 17 percent to 25 percent by 2022. The agency is has to create separate creative strategy for all the above mentioned sectors.
