These 12 Bills Are Waiting To Be Passed In Budget Session 2016


BENGALURU: Amidst recent political turmoil throughout the country on various issues, the budget session of Indian parliament started on Feb 23. For this session, there are twelve key bills to be considered and that are to be passed from the members of the parliament, source FirstPost, PRS Legislative:

The Constitution (122nd Amendment) (GST) Bill, 2014

The bill has already been passed in Lok Sabha and is pending clearance in Rajya Sabha. It is predicted that once cleared, the Bill will facilitate nearly 2% GDP growth in the near future.

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2013

Once passed, the regulatory bill will help set up state-level administrative authorities to oversee the real estate projects and transactions between buyers and promoters.

The Lokpal and Lokayuktas and other related Law (Amendment) Bill, 2014

Pertaining to the modification in the composition of the Selection Committee, the amendment warrants inclusion of the leader of the single largest opposition party in the Lok Sabha. It also addresses the manner of declaration of assets of public servants.

The Anti-Hijacking Bill, 2014

The Anti-Hijacking Bill is proposed in replacement of the Anti-Hijacking Act, 1982. It awards death penalty and confiscation of moveable and immoveable property in cases where the hijacking results in death of hostage or security personnel and life imprisonment in all other cases.
