Bangalore: Racism is an extreme form of xenophobia. What really drives racism is the misplaced belief that members of a certain race are superior or inferior, desirable or detestable. According to a recent report by the Washington Post, the surveyors asked respondents in more than 80 different countries to identify the sort of people they would not wish to have as neighbors and the replies were, “People of a different race.” It was concluded that this question could serve as an accurate indicator of racial tolerance in different countries. The findings, which were based off a global survey was conducted by two Swedish economists. So, let us take a look at the 10 most racially intolerant nations in the world-

10. South Korea:
Racism in South Korea curtails from the common conviction that Koreans are a "pure blood," which have been homogenous throughout history. So, in an ethnically homogenous nation like South Korea, mixed-race offspring are usually viewed with contempt. Until January 2011, there is a case where biracial men were even banned from serving in the country’s military. As per the 2009 poll, it was revealed that 47 percent of Korean children were uncertain and at the same time negative mindsets splurge out on the subject of whether they could make friends with a biracial child. Even in education system, ethnic prejudice is thought to be widespread.
