Obama Girls, Malala Yousafzai On Time's Most Influential Teen List


BANGALORE: The recently concluded event of the Nobel Peace Prize awards have seen the rise of Malala Yousafzai, who was already a world sensation after her stunt with fighting for education rights for the girls in Pakistan. She was willing to give up her life and in the act of doing so lost her nose when the Taliban attacked her. She was later taken to UK and given shelter, reports Reuters.

She is now on a mission to fight against the injustice towards girls and wants to become a politician to change the fate of her people and her country. She has been named in Time Magazines most influential teen’s list.

Sasha and Malia, daughters of Barack Obama, the president of America, also found on the list of TIME’s most influential. They became a sudden hit on twitter; the social media network after their father successfully won the presidential election. This alone was enough to propel the two girls to fame and power.

The other teens on the list are from various domains like entertainment, activists, sportspersons and entrepreneurs. Lorde, 17 years old teen sensation from New Zealand has taken the music world by storm with her release of “Royals” which propelled her to fame. She has had a crazy amount of fans following her ever since.

Tavi Gevinson, the 18-year-old fashion writer and founder of online magazine Rookie, transgender activist Jazz Jennings, 14, and Hong Kong pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong, 18, also made the list.
