New American Tech In India To Catch Terrorists Online

BANGALORE: India is in a quest to develop strategies to sweep out terrorism. The continuous terror attacks in past several years have put the nation’s security at as a question mark.  National Investigation Agency (NIA) has for the first time set up a special cell to monitor internet content and chatter. This will also help the agency to generate its own intelligence investigation, reports India Times.

The agency has got the art tools from a U.S. software giant. The National informatics center and center of advanced computing will help the agency to track the communication about any kind of terrorism activities in the country. Till days these tools were only limited to Intelligence bureau and research and analysis wing, thus NIA becoming the only agency to attain the tools outside intelligence wing.

The NIA official stated that, "Terrorists are not talking over the phone anymore. That is why it took so many years to apprehend Indian Mujahideen operative Ahmed Zarar Siddibappa alias Yasin Bhatkal even as he continued executing blast after blast. Unless we enhance our cyber monitoring capabilities, we are always going to stay a step behind the terrorist. All terror plans, radicalization, recruitment are today being discussed over the internet,"

The highly growing technology is also another challenge in front of the agency. Thus speed in the analysis also plays a major role in preventing terrorism. A conversation which is recorded after the incident will not be of any use. The whole idea of importing tech from U.S. is to make sure that our country has best security system.]
