Narendra Modi Among World's Most Powerful People On Forbes List

BENGALURU: It is now official that Modi is one of the most powerful people in the world. The Indian PM is ranked 15th in the Forbes’ List of 25 most powerful people in the world. Within a very short span of 5 months since the time of his swearing-in, Modi established a solid global image. The world is as impressed as the people of India, at the global position Modi has acquired. There are many other factors which contributed to building Modi’s majestic image- from MOM (Mars Orbiter Mission) to the inevitable trust he earned from bazillions of Indians.

Forbes said "India's newest rock star doesn't hail from Bollywood. He is the newly elected Prime Minister who sailed into office in May with a landslide victory, ushering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) into power after decades of control by the Gandhi dynasty."

Forbes described him as a "Hindu nationalist" and cited the 2002 Gujarat riots when he was the state's chief minister.

The top five people in the list are the same as the previous list. Putin’s stand on Ukraine crisis and occupation of Crimea had paid off and crowned him as the most powerful man on the earth for a consecutive second time beating Barack Obama. On the other hand, the U.S. president has been holding the top spot for many years till 2010.

Moving ahead to the other powerful people in the list, here are some other interesting people and the  new entries in the list.
