MyGov.in Version 2.0 Launched


BENGALURU: To enhance the E-Governance and to accelerate the process of growth Prime Minister Narendra Modi established a platform for all the Indians to post their views and ideas and contribute towards development. MyGov.in, the Government Citizen Engagement platform launched a nationwide contest to build a mobile App for Prime Minister’s Office.

It is reported by ET that Google partners with India’s PMO for an App contest open to all Indians to build a Mobile App for Modi. Besides that the government updated the crowd sourcing platform MyGov.in with its version 2.0 with newer features such as hashtags, polls, interactive discussion forums and social media account integration.

This new and sleeker version of MyGov.in will make extensive use of analytics and data mining tools. It has easier navigation and shows real time data about registered users, task submissions and number of comments across different discussion themes on the landing page.

MyGov.in hosts a series of competitions to engage the citizens as part of pressing issues in the country in addition to inviting suggestions for its upcoming activities.

The size of members in this portal has been increasing and is now over 8 lakh members. As per the reports MyGov 2.0 was based on an open source technology by the National Informatics Centre, and has been an important medium for the government to interact directly with citizens. The government's "Jan Dhan Yojana" or Financial Inclusion program was also named through a contest on the MyGov portal.

Launched by Narendra Modi MyGov.in is regarded "more inclusive, more interactive, and more collaborative" taking a new avatar.
