Modi's Fan-Following Reaches 1 Million on Twitter

Bangalore: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has now reached a million mark with the ‘followers’ on Twitter. In November last year Modi had four lakh followers and he has managed to add six lakh followers since then, to touch one million.

Known to be an internet- savvy, Modi thanked his followers and tweeted "A million followers! These are not mere numbers but it signifies your love and affection. Heartfelt thanks to you all," as reported by IBN Live.com.

BJP's media adviser Jagdish Bhavsar said "Modi's development agenda is being endorsed across the country and world-over. And that is showing in his fan following."

Modi first was on Twitter in 2009 and in 2010, he had one lakh followers. And as of 2012 he has touched the one million mark. Modi also has a blog, and updates it regularly.

He is quite frequent on social platforms like Twitter and blog, to make political statements. This year in September, he started a state-wide 'Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra', a campaign tour, in quest of a third term in Gujarat, which is going to elections on December 13 and 17, reported IBN Live.
