Integrated Transportation System Soon: Railway Minister


New Delhi: An integrated multi-modal transportation system will be created to meet the need of passengers, according to Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

In an interview with Zee News on its new programme "RaZniti" that will be aired over the weekend, Prabhu spoke on issues concerning railways, their solution, future plans and various schemes in the pipeline.

Prabhu said in the interview that he was aware of the problems concerning railways.

"There is a need for an integrated policy to address those problems. In order to cater to the needs of passengers, an integrated multi-modal transportations system will be formed. We are working out details in consultation with other concerned agencies," the release said.

Zee News said the show will discuss topics of national importance including education, healthcare and defence.

Every episode will lead to a policy recommendation concerning the sector, which may be further taken up by voting on social media "to create an impact among people and to stir the thought process of policy makers".

At the end of the series, a recommendation will be presented to the prime minister in his capacity as chairman of the Niti Aayog.
