India's Growing Obsession with Porn Culture

Google Trends reported that the search volume index for the word 'porn' has doubled in India between 2010 and 2012. Online porn is increasingly affordable, accessible and acceptable with instant net connectivity and flexible payment options. 7 Indian cities are among the top 10 in the world on porn search, as per Google Trends, 2011. According to a 2011 IMRB Survey, one in five mobile users in India wants adult content on his 3G-enabled phone. More than 47 percent students discuss porn every day, suggests a public school survey by Max Hospital in Delhi. Porn tops the list of cyber crimes in India, as per the National Crime Records Bureau.

New terminologies and innovative formats, borrowed from foreign cultures are trendy on the web. Anime and manga refer to Japanese formats of sexually-explicit animation and comics. The new spotlight is the service sector, with ‘shy massage girls’ seducing clients, doctors and ‘hot babes in nurse uniforms’ getting wild.

Sunny Leone takes the credit for the 'pornification' of India. She said to India Today "My presence on Bigg Boss has empowered a lot of people to be open about their sexuality." She is one of the richest adult actresses in the industry, with her SunLust Pictures in Los Angeles reporting a top line of over $1 million and she is the most-searched Google celebrity-powered by India, Bangladesh and Pakistan and has 1, 47,326 Twitter followers.

Sunny's success indicates greater acceptability of porn in everyday life. Internet is the new tool, exploding every embarrassing sexual adventure of public personalities and making every striking detail an item of private consumption. Coming after the midwife Bhanwri Devi's sex cds with Rajasthan politician Mahipal Maderna in November last year, public reaction to the Karnataka disaster has ranged from resentment to amusement, but not shock.

2: you see the turn-over of porn industry. without financial investment which business can flourish like this. In fact financial crisis fuels this industry. This is the one and only one business will never die. if one want to see any change in society just follow the Hitler's concept. follow these steps in order:
1. make the people (whoever involved in porn business) infertile and loose interest in sexual activities.
2. force public engaging in their daily activities and their sex life with partner!
3. stop sex education in schools like in Austria
4. Ask parents/relatives of the younger generation to communicate (in appropriate manner by not creating shyness or creating phobia about it) . These communications will only be effective if it were taught in the family by a family member. As there are many events exists in Indian traditional system to identify and explain the needs communication is not a difficult part. but the problem is how to convince the younger one who want to give a try. probably this was the reason olden generations used to get marriage at early age. but this will not be an alternative in current times.

if nothing works then start own porn industry!!!

If you think there is nothing wrong in porn culture than you are one of the worst ,disgusting people and those who are celebrating, supporting etc. According to you guys you also support your mother/father porn that is happening in your houses ..according to you this is porn ..but again please make a difference between love and porn and those who are supporting this boycott that ..Also ,there is human tendency and you can say it is human nature that it is easily attracted to wrong things (porn, drugs etc.)..Also ,there is nothing wrong in killing innocent people as most people like it to degrade others ans show superiority ..it does not mean that this is right ..there is a lots of hard work involved in doing crime, robbery ,killing ..it does not mean that is right ...porn has ruined USA ..divorce rate (70%) and now Bollywood is killing India and also they are bringing this porn culture here ..like giving show much respect to porn star(Sunny leone ) worse than prostitute..please show some respect to relations ..

Its disgusting to see Indian culture becoming worst than Western culture. It doesn't suit us Indians. Can't even watch decent Indian movies nowadays without any soft porn. How can we watch movies as family when every Indian movie has some sort of sex highlights. Romance is different but porn is offensive in our culture. Even in Western countries, people are sensible with these issues. India wants to go even ahead of Western culture and maybe fall off the cliff like idiots.

Those who support porn, must be watching sex XXX movies with their parents, brothers and sisters. It is normal for them but not for others who have great self respect and family values.

10: Well while we are speaking about pornography and sex, kids, teenagers and youngsters in India are doing it at their homes, offices and whichever place is suitable for them... how come this much office mms scandals get published in the internet?

We even see oldies recording their personal moments on webcams or phones. So we cannot blame a certain age group. Porn was there.. even before the age of internet and mobile phone, is there and still will be there.

It depends entirely on the parents and family, how children are to be raised and how much restrictions should be given on certain things. At this age parents don't have time and are having sex on cams... so who else to blame???

13: Just as keeping an exclusive smoking zone, may be an exclusive porn watch area will work out better.
The result perhaps would be our legislature will have thin attendance for transacting the business. The media will also be spared,as they wont also be interested in covering the proceedings over there, but you can find them in these exclusive zones. Ha Ha Ho Ho

14: There is a generation which grew up watching porn - those who are in the 30-40 year range, they seem to be doing fine, running the world and other things.

Time to ditch the hypocrisy, porn always existed, will always exist. It's time for the media to grow mature, the public already is
