MUMBAI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday said that the Indian soldiers on the borders would give a fitting reply to the ongoing Pakistani aggression which has resulted in at least seven civilian casualties.
"Our soldiers will give them a reply, by pressing the trigger...The day will not come when I have to give a reply," Modi said, referring to opposition parties' clamour about what he was doing about the border disturbances.
Earlier, he said in rallies in Pune and Baramati that Indian soldiers have given a demonstration of their capability and bravery by tackling the Pakistan ceasefire violations.
Addressing a mammoth election rally in Ghatkopar in north-east Mumbai late Thursday evening, Modi said he had never witnessed such huge crowds even during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

"Every atrocity has a limit, after every crime, there is anger. This anger will manifest during the voting. It was from Maharashtra that Mahatma Gandhi gave a call for 'Total Freedom'. In 2014, I appeal to you for 'Total Mandate' for the BJP, not a fractured verdict," Modi urged the crowds.
He assured them that a majority government would be more accountable to public rather than an alliance government which would indulge in infighting at public expense.
He targeted various opposition parties in the state saying there was a fight over the 'ownership' of Chhatrapati Shivaji, the great warrior king revered in Maharashtra.
"But Chhatrapati Shivaji belongs to all - and to all ages. If Sharad Pawar had so much love, why did he not construct the promised grand monument in his honour? For years, there has been talk of a magnificent monument for B.R. Ambedkar, but what happened? Why could not they make Mumbai a global financial centre? They only played vote-bank politics," he said.
Assuring great changes and fulfilling the dreams of the people, the Prime Minister said that politics is rapidly changing, with a desire for development, aspirations for a great India, great Maharashtra and a great Mumbai among the youth who comprise two-thirds of the population.
"People have no patience now. There is no place for vote-bank politics, only development will count. The solution to all problems is progress. Why can't we change? Why can't we compete with the world equally," Modi exhorted.

Modi reiterated that now he has no ambition of becoming something, but only doing something for the nation, and added that without progress of Mumbai and Maharashtra, the entire country's progress would halt.
He listed areas like developing tourism, which was stunted owing to dirt and filth everywhere, lack of basic amenities due to which tourists avoid coming here, making Mumbai the skill capital of India, building the best of Metro railway for Mumbai and other measures for progress here.
Modi again retorted sharply to the opposition clamour for his achievements in the past few months since he took over as the prime minister.
"The Congress has not given an account of what they did in the past 60 years, but they are demanding account of my 60 days. After five years, I will give full account of each moment and each penny," he said.
