WASHINGTON: The India-U.S. CEO Forum would hold its next meeting here on September 21 during which top business and government leaders from the two countries will discuss efforts to improve commercial and economic ties, an official announcement said.
During the Forum, CEOs from India and the U.S. will have an opportunity to provide joint private sector recommendations directly to high-level government officials from both countries that address economic challenges in several key areas including trade and investment, said the Department of Commerce.
The meeting will also aim at fostering innovation; developing a skilled workforce; and enabling rapid and secure movement of goods, it said.
The U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, along with Caroline Atkinson, Deputy Assistant to President and Deputy U.S. National Security Advisor for International Economics, serve as the U.S. government co-chairs for the U.S.-India CEO Forum.
American CEOs selected for this year's forum include Ajay Banga, President and CEO of MasterCard; Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors; Sanjay Bhatnagar, President and CEO of WaterHealth International; Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO of Adobe Systems and Indra Nooyi, Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo.
Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of AECOM Technology Corporation; Ahmad Chatila, CEO of SunEdison, Inc; David Cote, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell International Inc. who is also the Forum Co-Chair; Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman, President and CEO of Harman International Industries; Paul Jacobs, Executive Chairman of Qualcomm, Inc. are among others selected.
