Here's What People Searched The Most On Google In 2014


BENGALURU: Google came out with its annual list of the year’s fastest-rising search requests, its rankings provide more insights into what people were inquisitive about and the company’s technology processes in about two out of every three search requests on the internet.

The search on Robin Williams’ death topped the Google’s search list with the notable events like Football World cup, Ebola Outbreak and the disappearance of the Malaysia aircraft MH370. So here is the rest of the list as compiled by the Tech 2

According to the Google trends, the trending search No.1 was the Elections 2014 and the second place was the Fifa 2014 with the third being the iPhone 6. On the tech, the Moto G was the first one on the top search list. It is the most searched phone followed by the Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

As far as the Google India is concerned, the online shopping website Flipkart, SBI Online, Flipkart rival Snapdeal, IRCTC, PNR Status, HDFC Netbanking, Cricbuzz, Google Translate, Times of India and Amazon were the top searches.

Apparently, the reaction to Robin Williams was on the top of the list in 2014. Others on the list included the Smartphone games like Flappy Bird, bearded drag queen Conchita Wurst, the hit Disney movie “Frozen,” the Winter Olympics in Russia and the Middle East extremist group ISIS.

However, Williams, Ebola, the World Cup and the Ice Bucket challenge ranked among the most-discussed subjects this year on Facebook which released its list sometime back.
