'Hamara Bajaj' Chetak All Set For A Comeback


BANGALORE: Remember Bajaj Chetak that used to rule the roads before the entree of bikes from the company. According to reports it is about to make a comeback. ‘Hamara Bajaj’ the tagline of the scooter range that boosted the market value of Bajaj, reports BI.

In the recent times the sales of Bajaj dropped and are trailing behind TVS. The sales count, as of Feb 2015, has gone down 21 percent and stands at 2, 16,077 units.  The previous year’s figure is at 2, 73,323 units. Bajaj hopes to reignite the spark in the process of releasing its iconic brand model.

bajaj chetakJust after the announcement of Bajaj Chetak, to the market shares of Bajaj Auto has increased 1.2 percent and those of TVS have come down by 2.5 percent.

This reaction in the market is a strong boost for Bajaj and will instill confidence for future production of this scooter range. Bajaj was the one to revolutionize the market by bringing in its premium bike range as in Pulsar.

The new Bajaj Chetak is reported to be gearless in contrast to the older one, riding in to the market to have its stake competing models like Vespa and s.

In absence of its presence in scooter sect Bajaj has faced a drop in sales while TVS made it to the top featuring in the parched market.

Bajaj is now the second largest Two-wheeler and Three-wheeler Company in India and with Chetak’s re-entry, the fates might turn in favour for the company. The new one will also be tagged ‘Hamara Bajaj’ rubbing the old lamp in hope that it might do the required work.
