G20 Summit In China On Sep 4&5


BEIJING: The G20 summit in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, to be attended by leaders of the world's largest economies, will be held on September 4 and 5, China confirmed at a press conference on Wednesday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang read out the long list of leaders who are set to attend the summit, including US President Barack Obama, Russia's Vladimir Putin, Germany's Angela Merkel, Turkey's Recep Tayyip Erdogan, France's Francois Hollande, Britain's Theresa May, Mexico's Enrique Peña Nieto, Argentina's Mauricio Macri and Spain's Mariano Rajoy.

European Council President Donald Tusk, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Secretary General Angel Gurria, and International Monetary Fund Chief Christine Lagarde will also participate in the discussions.

The theme of the summit is "Towards an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected, and Inclusive World Economy" and it will take place at the Hangzhou International Expo Centre.
