Fighting All Odds Auto Driver's Son Clears The Prestigious IIT Exam

BENGALURU: JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) exam for admission into IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) isn’t just an exam; rather it’s a dream of all technical students in India. Around 13 lakh students appear in exam every year, but eventually only around ten thousand students get selected. In the list of ten thousand finalists, there are many inspiring stories and here goes one among them, ibnlive.

Ashish Sharam from Agra has cleared the IIT-JEE entrance exam, but unfortunately, he has opted out from joining any of the IIT institutions. As claimed by himself he is a son of an auto driver who merely earns five hundred to six hundred rupees per day and cannot afford to join IIT.

In an interview to IBN, Sharma stated that it is “very difficult for my father to pay the fees as they have increased. Even if I apply for loan, I still have to pay the fees for the first semester - which I won't be able to manage."

Home and Human Resource Ministries have extended their help to Zaman Ishtiyaq Bhat, a boy from Jammu and Kashmir, who also made it to IIT through JEE entrance exam, but did not have enough money to continue his IIT journey any further. Sharma is expecting the same to happen with him.
