BANGALORE: Today’s female leaders are stirring up the debate for the women’ progression in every sector of the economy. Keeping the gibes at bay, women in India have broken the stereotypes and surpassed the patriarchal Indian society.

Instead of checking out the women who spark controversies and seek attention for all the wrong reasons, it’s time we should bring recognition and limelight to these women.

Jothimani Gowthaman
This 30 year old mother is the only lady truck driver in Tamil Nadu. Based out of Kallipatti village in Gobichettipalayam of Erode district, Jothimani Gowthaman, transports load across the nation on her 16-tonne truck. She was taught driving by her husband six years back and that’s when she began to bowl along. She said, “The driver we appointed for our second vehicle wasn’t committed to the job, leaving us with heavy losses. Therefore, I started to drive the lorry along with my husband,  these long drives through highways has become my life now,”
