Brazil-Germany Match is the Most-discussed Game on Twitter


BANGALORE: Over this World Cup season, not surprisingly many people resorts to social media platform to share their feelings about the games. The Brazil’s 7-1 World Cup semifinal loss to Germany, no doubt will leave a permanent scar to the team as well as the entire fans all over the world. But, when it comes to tweets, it has become the most-discussed single sports game ever on Twitter, reports Hindu Businessline.

Images and videos showing Brazilian fans in tears were extensively shared on various social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Vine. Also, Brazilians used Twitter to reflect on the situation and display national pride.

Tweet like #WeStillProudOfYouBrazil was trending after the game with more than 37,000 tweets. Even the team's acting captain David Luis still has the firm support of Brazilian Twitter.  The hashtag #DavidOBrasilTeAma (David Brazil loves you) was the most trending one in Brazil, and has been tweeted over 175,000 times.

The semi-final match also generated highest tweets per minute. During the live telecast of the match, almost 35.6 million tweets were generated.

Till now, the clash between Brazil and Chile with 16.4 million tweets was the most discussed match of the World Cup. Other than this, the opening match between Brazil and Croatia witnesses more than 12.2 million tweets being tweeted during the telecast of the match.
