7 Reasons Why Indian Air Force Is Nation's Pride

Operation Rahat:

Whether it’s a war or a rescue operation the IAF has never been out of reach for the nation’s call. ‘Rahat’ was a rescue operation carried out by IAF to rescue flood victims in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in 2013; this operation was marked as the biggest human rescue operations in the world carried out by any Air Force using helicopters, wherein 19,600 civilians were rescued. IAF recently extended its immediate help to quake-hit Nepal and rescued 11, 200 people.

Woman Power:

As Padmavathy Bandopadhyay was the first woman Air Marshal of the IAF to be promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshal, the IAF has not reserved itself only to exhibit formidable acts of men in battle grounds. In fact the IAF has 10,747 officers actively serving women officers, who constitute 10 percent of the overall IAF personals.
