After winning a series of championships, World’s No.4 Kadambi Srikanth withdrew from the Asian Championships due to his ill fitness. He is the third Indian shuttler to break into the top-five rankings. The 21 year-old player brought back the legacy of Indian badminton players like Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopivhand who once held World No.1 and No.4 spots respectively.
