5 Longest Serving Politicians in India

Bangalore: There is something about the politics that allures many, however only a few can play it well, a chosen few. With their strong will to stay in the field these politicians are the veterans in politics. Here are the five longest served or serving politicians, who represent the ‘politically charged’ leaders of the nation.

Narendra Modi
Modi has been the chief minister of Gujarat since October 2001and still holds the office. He is the longest serving chief minister of Gujarat. Gujarat formed in 1960 has had 14 different Chief Ministers. Modi has always shown his dedication towards his profession, and to serve the nation and its countrymen. Like in the 60s, during the Indo-Pak war, when he was just a boy he volunteered to assist the soldiers at the railway stations with transit. In college he became the member of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, which was a student organization and was actively involved in the anti-corruption ‘Nav Nirman’ movement. The organization nominated Modi as a representative in the Bharatiya Janata Party after he worked as a full time organizer for the organisation.  Modi with his long relationship with politics is all geared up for the upcoming Gujarat elections.
