3. “Krampus” customs: Krampus, who is believed to be Santa Claus’s evil twin brother in Austria, has a legend that follows the Christmas celebrations in this part of the world. Legend has it that Krampus has horns, is demonic in appearance, and carries away naughty children in a sack to his lair on the eve of Christmas. The custom has bad or naughty children getting a stick or black coals in their shoes from Krampus, compared to good children who get money or gifts put in their shoes by Santa Claus.
