(2) Iraq

The Iraq War has been a wide scale conflict that started in 2003, encompassing a military campaign by a multinational force, led by troops from the United States of America, as well as the Iraqi rebellion and civil war that followed.

The first was an invasion of Iraq starting on 2003 March 20 by an invasion force led by the United States that led to the end of Ba'athist Iraq. It was followed by a longer phase of fighting, in which a revolution emerged to oppose the occupying forces and the newly formed Iraqi government

In the summer of 2014, in response to gains made by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Iraq, United States President Barack Obama began to deploy U.S. military forces to Iraq to defend American assets and to advise Iraqi government forces.

The War in Somalia was an armed conflict involving largely Ethiopian and Somali Transitional Federal Government forces and Somali troops from Puntland versus the Somali Islamist umbrella group.

As of January 2009, Ethiopian troops withdrew from Somalia following a two-year insurgency, which led to loss of territory and effectiveness of the TFG and a power-sharing deal between Islamists splinter group. Islamist fighters in Somalia opened a completely new aspect to the Somali Civil War, followed by a series of suicide attacks.
