2. Guangzhou Opera House, China

Guangzhou Opera House is a newly constructed Chinese opera house in Guangzhou, Guangdong China.

The theatre has become one of the biggest performing centre in southern China and is one of the three biggest theatres in the nation alongside Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts and Shanghai's Shanghai Grand Theatre. The structure was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid.

Its freestanding concrete auditorium set within exposed granite and glass-clad steel frame took over five years to build.

3. Gran Teatro La Fenice, Italy

Gran Teatro La Fenice is an opera house in Venice, Italy. It is one of "the most famous and renowned landmarks in the history of Italian theatre" as well as those in Europe.

La Fenice was rebuilt in 19th-century style on the basis of a design by architect Aldo Rossi who, in order to obtain details of its design, used still photographs from the opening scenes of Luchino Visconti's 1954 film Senso which had been filmed in the house.
