2. Rajasthan

Second in the list is Rajasthan where the total length of national highways is 7,806 km. India's first 4–8 lane highway NH 8 which links New Delhi with Mumbai goes mainly through Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, it extends from the Haryana Border to Gujarat Border with the length of 688 km.

The longest in Rajasthan is the NH15 that lengthens from Punjab border to Gujarat border in Rajasthan. National Highway 11 is the other major highway in Rajasthan.  This highway joins Agra in Uttar Pradesh with Bikaner in Rajasthan. The major part of this highway lies in Rajasthan and it is one of the major tourism Highways in India.

3. Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is third in the list with the total length of 7,068.15 km of national highway. NH5 is the lengthiest national Highway in Andhra Pradesh. This highway also goes through the states of Tamil Nadu and Orissa.

NH5 has 1000km of length in AP itself. NH7, NH9, NH18 and NH205 are other major highways of Andhra Pradesh.
