10 Leaders Who Featured In World Economic Forum's Global Shapers List


BEGALURU: Throughout the history, leaders have lived a glorifying life, and most among them also stand as an inspiration as they have contributed phenomenally towards shaping the present free and an advanced world. Hence the global economic forum has released the Global Shapers List and Cheer! We have two of our men in it, as reported by the indiatimes.

Nelson Mandela:

The name Nelson Mandela is widely considered as the synonym of the word ‘peace,’ that is the depth of legacy that he has left for us as a consequence of his supreme life. Thus, even after his death, Mandela still rules the heart of South African population and all across the globe. As a result, he is listed on the top among all other leaders who are short listed.

Pope Francis:

Pope Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. Francis succeeded the highest esteem in Christianity after the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. Being a spiritual leader Francis is largely regarded for his humility, his emphasis on God's mercy, his concern for the poor, and his commitment to interfaith discussions.  

Elon Musk:

Elon Musk, a Canadian-American business magnate and an inventor, who tussling with his team to shape the future is the CEO and CTO of SpaceX, CEO and Product Architect of Tesla Motors, and Chairman of SolarCity. He is particularly popular for his role in the SpaceX, a company that is working to reduce the space transportation costs and to enable the migration to Mars. Prior to his involvement in the space program, he founded PayPal that is worldwide giant in online payments.

Mahatma Gandhi:

Mahatma Gandhi is a global leader who preached peace and harmony as a message of his life. Even after his death, Gandhi has inspired many leaders around the world in attaining peaceful democracy in their country and is considered as the second most influential personality in the history after Nelson Mandela in peace keeping.

Bill Gates:

Bill Gates, the man who changed the way world functioned and paved a digital path for the future generation. Gates being a founder of the tech giant Microsoft has inspired millions of youths across the globe in the field of computer science and is respected for his revolutionary contribution in the respective field.

Barack Obama:

Undoubtedly, anyone who possesses the post of American President is considered as the most influential person on the planet. Similarly the current U.S President Barack Obama is also listed in Global Shapers List. Proceeding to his tenure America was accused for involving in various wars in Middle East regions, but after his acquisition of power, the country has not made big news for waging any major wars and it has recovered from the recession that it suffered in 2008.

Richard Branson:

Richard Branson, a businessman, investor and a founder of the virgin groups that conglomerates more than 400 companies in different sectors in UK. In 1970, he first established a mail-order record business, which he later named it as the Virgin Megastores. Since then there has never been a look back in his career and Virgin Mobile, which is part of the respective group has emerged as the global operator today.

Steve Jobs:

Steve Jobs, founder of the Apple Inc. and served as the CEO of the respective company. Though he found that he was affected by the cancer, he worked for the company and played an integral role in developing Apple products that are ruling the tech world today. Jobs died at his house on October 5, 2011 in California; consequently, the world drowned in tears and expressed condolences.

Muhammad Yunus:

Muhammad Yunus, a Nobel Prize laureate for his world-shattering contribution towards the banking sector that has largely impacted in the socio and economic condition of deprived classes in Bangladesh.
Yunus founded a Grameen Bank, through which he introduced the concept of the microcredit and microfinance, to provide banking facilities underprivileged class.

Narendra Modi:                                        

Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of India, and is popular among the population for initiating new projects to strengthen the base of the Indian economy. His programs like Make in India, Digital India and startup India are immensely popularly in the country and his vision is estimated to build the country as an industrial power house.
