Aruba is a flat , riverless island, widely known for its white sandy beaches on the western and southern coasts of the island. It enjoys one of the highest standards of living in the Caribbean region and has a low unemployment rate. About 74 percent of its gross national product is earned through tourism and related activities. But a not-so-popular fact about Aruba is that it has the second highest divorce rate in the world. With a divorce rate of a whopping 5.27 percent, Aruba is surpassed by only one other country in terms of divorce rate.

1. Russia

Russia tops the list of countries with highest divorce rate with a figure of 5.30 percent. It is one of the four former USSR republics that have appeared in the list. Russia which is sandwiched between Europe and Asia is trying hard to appear more western and hence is exercising more freedom, which includes breaking out of marriages and familial relationships. Corruption too could be another reason for the high divorce rate. There is a general distrust among people towards the government which has in turn caused the social structure and culture to disintegrate
